Thank you Kevin for this, this is great. There are a couple of yahoo groups for highlands that people post on every once in a while, but this is a much better set-up. This is well thought out.
Thank you,
Glenn Young

I think this forum should be very beneficial to many newbies and oldies.
I am a 20 year owner of Highland cattle and have owned them in WI for five year and now in MO for 15 years.  They do excellent.  Thank you Kevin for this opportunity to talk about Highlands. :)

Nice place to gather info about highlands... We have been raising them for 2 1/2 years..we have 11 now and growing. They do great in southern Arkansas... We raise highlands, longhorns and angus/brangus (but keep our Highlands seperated) and I think the Highlands are the most intelligent cows I have ever dealt with. Easiest we have ever raised... Thanks for the new forum...will check in on here regularly..Robbie

p.s. I get a kick out of all the people that stop and take pics of our herd..

Hi all,
I look forward to sharing/gleening info with everyone here, we've been raising highlands since the Y2k scare, so that would be  . . . . . 10 years now :D. Ever since then we've been trying to become more self sufficient and raising our own food as much as possible. Of course we raise a lot more food for the fold however. Currently there are 12 in the fold and the last one was a bull calf on July 1st.

Kevin, Thanx for getting this going, I was wondering if you are going to have a "Livestock for sale" section or if there are rules against that? I know there are usually a lot of people selling and buying out there, all mine are spoken for right now, but was just wondering, Thanx!

Keep on Bovining my friends ;)

Actually, I have an Equipment for Sale category.  The Heartland Highland Cattle Association offers classified ads on their webpage for livestock and I want to compliment, not compete, with my local club!  That said, feel free to post "wanted to buy" request - but lets use the Association webpage for livestock sales.
